Thanks TheHuckleBerry! The good people at Lufthansa were kind enough to let us film mid-flight. The best part was that half the plane was watching us shoot and getting a real kick out of our shenanigans. It was a good time had by all and a great way to spend 9 hours in the sky!
Very nicely done! I laughed, I cried – okay, I just laughed. How was it filming on a plane?
I swear this could be a TV series!
I love these videos. John has such a cool temperament! It’s the perfect balance between the two. Love it!
That was hilarious! The acting was great and the pace of the shots where perfectly timed! Im so impressed! The only problem I noticed was lighting and a little continuity issues which could have been done on purpose – other than that, I’ve watched most of your sketches and there all fantastic.. Cant wait to watch more!
Keep it up… (please!)
It’s a creative commons song which I can’t remember the title…I will dig it up!
Whats the music?
And ya those nicotine gums wont help much..
Sweet…
LOL
Their seems to be a chemtrail in the sky at 1:29 min., coupled with a white milky sky. This is very weird, since they supposedly only date from the end of the 90′s, beginning of 2000.
@gkblack very good video. It’s amazing how many homemade movies are being found in basements. Thanks for dusting it off and posting it. For those of us that study history, it’s a great video!
@biggsterboy stfu. What an idiot. This is a piece of history, unlike you, thats obviously a piece of sh*t. For you little kids that just want to post a stupid comment, take it somewhere else! Those that don’t study history, tend to repeat it!
WTF was everbody on cocaine back then
@sandyrich27 He was trying to put into place a society that many of our “elite” leaders still strive for today (only 60 years later), only he was too fast and obvious about it.. and the world rebelled. So yeah, it turns my stomach too…
@biggsterboy You just made my day!
very interesting movie, thanks for posting.
i would like to keep hold, that the first 100 seconds werde made in france, esp. in paris. you can see the champs elysees (0:20), a restaurant named “fouquet”, offering “soupers” (0:26), the arc de triomphe (0:32), probably (i guess) the pont neuf (0:35), the port at the louvre (0:44), a tricolore (0:48), the pantheon (1:06) and probably a part of the eiffel tower (1:33) , from which some scene were taken. after that comes nazi germany
Do you happen to know if this is Kodachrome or Agfa?
EntropyGuardian: You’re an idiot.
What shitty quality. What’d you take this with, your camera phone?
Fascinating 8mm film of Germany but Hitler’s name & actions just turn my stomach! The thought of him even being Human is a nightmare. I think it’s a piece of History That no one can conceive as being real. It’s surreal.
@jd55192
Thanks for solidifying my point.
@wrecksdart Correction: A 47% approval rate is not “just over 50%.”
Ignore the trolls – this is an amazing piece of film. Why are the film-makers holidaying in Berlin in 1938, I wonder? (Großdeutschland) was the name, from 1938, for the movement wanting an expanded German region. If this is around May 1st 1938, then they maybe also celebrating the annexation of Austria which was ceded to Germany in March. The Sudetenland in Czechoslovakia, lost after WWI, was re-claimed in March, fully routing the 1919 Treaty of Versailles. WWII started Sept ’39.
I wonder if the estate sale also contained a “My family went to Nazi Germany & all I got was this lousy swastika t-shirt” souvenir?
Everyone looks like they’re in a big hurry :0
@learn54
You. You are amongst the lowest life forms. A youtube comment troll. So sad!
@learn54
Yeah, except for that whole extinguishing of 6,000,000+ lives, Hitler and Obama are exactly alike!
As for worship, Obama has just over 50% approval rate at home. Not exactly what I’d call worship.
Sometimes it’s better to keep one’s mouth closed and be thought an idiot rather than opening one’s mouth to prove it.
@learn54 Yes, it also reminds me of nearly every popular leader through out history.
The adoration the people exhibit toward Hitler reminds me of how Obama is worshipped around the world.
Very powerful to watch 72 years later and realize that the crowd, for the most part, has no idea how much of an impact Hitler will have on the world.
@Atomzk Great reply, even funnier because I think you were actually being serious. Thanks for the laugh.
@biggsterboy It’s a piece of history, not an entry for a movie award. Nobody cares how many rainbows you pull out of your ass.
This Hitler film is okay, but it kind of pales in comparison to “European Vacation” from 1985 with Chevy Chase. This film features Clark Griswold (Chase) taking his family on a vacation through Europe and the wacky adventures that ensue when Americans culture meets the Old World. It is a much funnier film than “EV: Hitler” and has a lot more hijinx.
In summary, I would give EV: Chevy Chase version a Full On Double Rainbow, whereas EV: Hitler is more like one-half Rainbow.
Excellent find, and thank you for sharing this.
I have to say the hitler rallies really creep me out, but very interesting to see an amateur film of them.
Wow. It’s amazing how these rallies still seem immense and overwhelming compared to today’s where we have stadiums that can hold over 100,000 people. I can only think of the Chinese Olympic ceremony that has come close to this kind of grandeur.
